Authentication mode for a backend.

Variants§

§

None

No authentication.

§

StaticEnv(String)

Static bearer token from an environment variable.

§

StaticFile(String)

Static bearer token from a file (owner-only permissions enforced).

§

Exchange

Exchange the inbound NHI token for a backend-scoped token via the harness’s token exchange service. The exchanged token carries aud set to this backend’s name.

§

ForwardToken

Forward the caller’s own validated bearer token to this backend, and to no other. Requires require_identity = true. The backend receives a token whose audience is the gateway, so it could replay that token against the gateway; use it only for backends you trust as much as the gateway, and prefer exchange otherwise.
